Switzerland isn’t just a destination for me, it’s home. Even though I’ve traveled far and wide, there’s something about the air here, the crispness of the Alps, the smell of melted cheese and pine trees, that instantly grounds me. Born in Switzerland, I’ve been lucky to experience the country both as a local and a traveler, and every visit feels like rediscovering a part of myself. Zurich, my gateway city, is where modern Switzerland shows its sleekest face. It's businesslike by day, buzzing with banks and innovation, but surprisingly vibrant once you scratch the surface. I’ve wandered along the Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping streets, ducked into quiet art galleries in Kreis 5, and caught sunsets over Lake Zurich with gelato in hand. Zurich’s food scene is thriving, from traditional Zürcher Geschnetzeltes to creative Michelin-starred surprises. And I’ll never get tired of hopping on a tram and watching the city’s calm precision unfold like clockwork. From city to mountains, Grindelwald is the definition of an alpine dream. Nestled in the Bernese Alps, it's one of my favorite places to reconnect with nature and breathe deeply. In winter, I’ve skied the runs beneath the Eiger’s towering north face, and in summer, I’ve hiked for hours through wildflower-dotted meadows where cowbells echo in the distance. The First Cliff Walk gave me one of the most exhilarating views I’ve ever experienced, standing on a suspended walkway, surrounded by glaciers and silence. Grindelwald has a raw beauty that humbles you, no matter how many times you visit. Not far away is Interlaken, perfectly placed between lakes Thun and Brienz. It’s long been a hub for adventurers, and for good reason. I’ve paraglided over the turquoise lakes, rafted wild rivers, and hiked trails that make you feel like you’re in a movie. There’s always an energy in Interlaken, maybe it’s the adrenaline in the air, or maybe it’s the people who gather here from all over the world to chase peaks and thrills. When I needed to wind down, I’d take a lake cruise or just grab rösti at a chalet-style restaurant with a view of the Jungfrau massif. Then there’s Montreux, my lakeside escape on the shores of Lake Geneva. It feels almost Mediterranean here, with palm trees lining the promenade and jazz music drifting from open cafés. I’ve spent evenings sipping local wine from Lavaux’s vineyards, and mornings exploring Chillon Castle, one of the most stunning historic sites in the country. Montreux also knows how to put on a show, the Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the best I’ve attended, blending world-class music with mountain views that leave you speechless.Switzerland is an outdoor playground in every season. In winter, I live for the slopes, whether it's carving fresh powder in the Jungfrau region, snowshoeing through silent forests, or sipping mulled wine after a day on the pistes. And when the snow melts, the hiking begins. Some of my most memorable adventures have come with a backpack, hiking hut-to-hut across ridgelines where ibex graze and glaciers glitter in the distance. And the trains? Pure magic. Nowhere else is getting around part of the experience like it is here. I’ve taken the Glacier Express and the GoldenPass Line, curling through valleys and over viaducts with scenery so beautiful it doesn’t look real. It’s slow travel at its finest—every window a painting, every ride a memory.Swiss cuisine might surprise you. Yes, there’s fondue and raclette (which I adore), but there’s also creamy Zuger Kirschtorte, fresh lake fish, buttery rosti, and robust mountain cheeses you won’t find anywhere else. Add in regional wines, crisp and minerally from alpine terroirs, and you’ve got a culinary scene that’s as diverse as the landscape.Switzerland isn’t just where I’m from, it’s where I go to feel most alive. It’s a country that invites you to explore, to breathe deeper, to slow down. And every time I return, I find something new to fall in love with all over again.

Visiting Hong Kong was an experience like no other, a dazzling fusion of frenetic energy, rich culture, and unexpected tranquility, all packed into a relatively small space. Known globally as a thriving financial hub and a shopper’s paradise, Hong Kong also offers an extraordinary blend of modernity and tradition, bustling cityscapes alongside serene nature, and world-class entertainment for every type of traveler. During my trip, I had the chance to explore several key areas, Kowloon, Sha Tin, and the magical world of Hong Kong Disneyland, each revealing a different facet of this extraordinary city.My journey started in Kowloon, the vibrant urban heart across Victoria Harbour from Hong Kong Island. Stepping off the Star Ferry into Tsim Sha Tsui, I was immediately immersed in the dazzling neon lights and the buzzing streets packed with people from all walks of life. Kowloon is a feast for the senses: street markets brimming with colorful goods, the aroma of street food wafting from every corner, and the sound of Cantonese mingling with countless other languages. I wandered through the famous Ladies’ Market, marveling at the endless stalls selling everything from clothing and accessories to quirky souvenirs. The night markets in Kowloon came alive after sunset, and I found myself drawn to Temple Street Night Market, where fortune tellers, street performers, and food vendors created an electric atmosphere. One of the most unforgettable moments in Kowloon was watching the Symphony of Lights show from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade. As night fell, the skyline of Hong Kong Island lit up with synchronized beams of colorful light dancing across the skyscrapers, accompanied by music, a breathtaking spectacle showcasing the city’s modern vibrancy and spirit. From the urban intensity of Kowloon, I moved to Sha Tin, a quieter, more residential area in the New Territories that offered a refreshing contrast. Sha Tin felt like the perfect blend of city and nature. Here, I visited the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery, an extraordinary complex perched on a hillside, where golden Buddha statues lined the winding path leading up to the main temple. Each statue was unique and full of character, making the climb both a spiritual and visual delight. I also explored the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, which provided deep insights into the city’s history, art, and culture. Sha Tin’s sprawling parks and riverfront promenades gave me the chance to unwind and take in scenic views far removed from the hustle of central Hong Kong. The local markets and eateries offered authentic Cantonese cuisine, and I enjoyed tasting fresh dim sum and traditional snacks in cozy surroundings.A highlight of my Hong Kong adventure was a day spent at Hong Kong Disneyland, a place where childhood dreams and modern entertainment collide. The park exceeded my expectations with its seamless blend of classic Disney magic and distinctly Asian touches. From the moment I entered, I was transported to a world of fairy tales, thrilling rides, and charming characters. I particularly loved exploring Fantasyland, where the castle sparkled under the sun, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and wonder. The park’s attention to detail was incredible, traditional Chinese motifs and celebrations were woven into the design and shows, making it a truly unique Disney experience. The parades, fireworks, and themed dining options made the day unforgettable, and I felt like a kid again, caught up in the joyful spirit that only Disney can create.Throughout my stay, Hong Kong’s efficient transport system made traveling between these diverse neighborhoods easy and convenient. The MTR trains were punctual and clean, the Star Ferry rides scenic and charming, and the buses and trams added to the city’s dynamic rhythm. Each area, Kowloon’s electric urban vibe, Sha Tin’s cultural richness and calm, and Disneyland’s enchanting fantasy, showed me a different side of Hong Kong’s complex identity.Hong Kong impressed me not only with its towering skyscrapers and neon-lit streets but also with its deep respect for tradition and nature. Temples stood quietly amid bustling neighborhoods, hiking trails offered escapes to lush greenery, and street vendors kept culinary heritage alive alongside gourmet restaurants. The city’s multicultural population, where East meets West, creates a vibrant tapestry of languages, festivals, and customs that I found endlessly fascinating. In all, my time in Hong Kong was a whirlwind of contrasts and discoveries. Whether wandering through the lively markets of Kowloon, ascending the peaceful steps of Sha Tin’s monasteries, or sharing magical moments at Disneyland, I felt immersed in a city that is endlessly surprising and utterly unforgettable. Hong Kong is a place where every street corner tells a story, every meal is a celebration, and every visit leaves you longing to return.
