Switzerland isn’t just a destination for me, it’s home. Even though I’ve traveled far and wide, there’s something about the air here, the crispness of the Alps, the smell of melted cheese and pine trees, that instantly grounds me. Born in Switzerland, I’ve been lucky to experience the country both as a local and a traveler, and every visit feels like rediscovering a part of myself. Zurich, my gateway city, is where modern Switzerland shows its sleekest face. It's businesslike by day, buzzing with banks and innovation, but surprisingly vibrant once you scratch the surface. I’ve wandered along the Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping streets, ducked into quiet art galleries in Kreis 5, and caught sunsets over Lake Zurich with gelato in hand. Zurich’s food scene is thriving, from traditional Zürcher Geschnetzeltes to creative Michelin-starred surprises. And I’ll never get tired of hopping on a tram and watching the city’s calm precision unfold like clockwork. From city to mountains, Grindelwald is the definition of an alpine dream. Nestled in the Bernese Alps, it's one of my favorite places to reconnect with nature and breathe deeply. In winter, I’ve skied the runs beneath the Eiger’s towering north face, and in summer, I’ve hiked for hours through wildflower-dotted meadows where cowbells echo in the distance. The First Cliff Walk gave me one of the most exhilarating views I’ve ever experienced, standing on a suspended walkway, surrounded by glaciers and silence. Grindelwald has a raw beauty that humbles you, no matter how many times you visit. Not far away is Interlaken, perfectly placed between lakes Thun and Brienz. It’s long been a hub for adventurers, and for good reason. I’ve paraglided over the turquoise lakes, rafted wild rivers, and hiked trails that make you feel like you’re in a movie. There’s always an energy in Interlaken, maybe it’s the adrenaline in the air, or maybe it’s the people who gather here from all over the world to chase peaks and thrills. When I needed to wind down, I’d take a lake cruise or just grab rösti at a chalet-style restaurant with a view of the Jungfrau massif. Then there’s Montreux, my lakeside escape on the shores of Lake Geneva. It feels almost Mediterranean here, with palm trees lining the promenade and jazz music drifting from open cafés. I’ve spent evenings sipping local wine from Lavaux’s vineyards, and mornings exploring Chillon Castle, one of the most stunning historic sites in the country. Montreux also knows how to put on a show, the Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the best I’ve attended, blending world-class music with mountain views that leave you speechless.Switzerland is an outdoor playground in every season. In winter, I live for the slopes, whether it's carving fresh powder in the Jungfrau region, snowshoeing through silent forests, or sipping mulled wine after a day on the pistes. And when the snow melts, the hiking begins. Some of my most memorable adventures have come with a backpack, hiking hut-to-hut across ridgelines where ibex graze and glaciers glitter in the distance. And the trains? Pure magic. Nowhere else is getting around part of the experience like it is here. I’ve taken the Glacier Express and the GoldenPass Line, curling through valleys and over viaducts with scenery so beautiful it doesn’t look real. It’s slow travel at its finest—every window a painting, every ride a memory.Swiss cuisine might surprise you. Yes, there’s fondue and raclette (which I adore), but there’s also creamy Zuger Kirschtorte, fresh lake fish, buttery rosti, and robust mountain cheeses you won’t find anywhere else. Add in regional wines, crisp and minerally from alpine terroirs, and you’ve got a culinary scene that’s as diverse as the landscape.Switzerland isn’t just where I’m from, it’s where I go to feel most alive. It’s a country that invites you to explore, to breathe deeper, to slow down. And every time I return, I find something new to fall in love with all over again.

Andes Mountains Argentina

Argentina Travel Agent Advisor

<p>Argentina was a destination I had long dreamed of, mysterious and magnetic, where the passion of tango meets the untamed Andes, and world-class wines flow as easily as the warm conversations of its people. My journey through this magnificent country led me through four unforgettable cities: Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Córdoba, and Rosario. Each revealed a different facet of Argentina’s identity, and together, they told a story that continues to resonate within me.My adventure began in Buenos Aires, a city that feels more European than South American, yet pulses with something deeply Argentine. The moment I arrived, I was swept up by the rhythm of the streets, vibrant, chaotic, elegant, and alive. I wandered through San Telmo, where colonial buildings whispered stories of the past and tango dancers performed with raw emotion in the plazas. Recoleta stunned me with its Parisian architecture and the haunting beauty of its cemetery, where even in death, Buenos Aires tells its tale with dramatic flair. In Palermo, street art colored the walls with rebellious creativity, and cafes hummed with writers, artists, and dreamers. I spent my evenings savoring thick, juicy steaks paired with Malbec and losing track of time in smoky milongas where the tango seemed to speak a language deeper than words. From Buenos Aires, I flew west into the heart of wine country, Mendoza. The change in pace was immediate. Here, beneath the shadow of the majestic Andes, the air felt clearer, and life moved slower. I cycled from vineyard to vineyard through Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, sipping Malbecs that danced on the palate with notes of plum and spice. One morning, I hiked toward Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas, humbled by its sheer presence and the silence of the mountains. Mendoza gave me not just wine, but serenity, a kind of grounding that only comes from being close to the earth and sky.Next, I headed north to Córdoba, Argentina’s colonial gem and intellectual heart. The city thrummed with energy, fueled by its massive student population and historical significance. I explored the Jesuit Block, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where centuries-old walls seemed to echo with philosophical debate. Outside the city, the Sierras de Córdoba offered hiking trails, river swims, and breathtaking views. I joined locals in Villa General Belgrano for a lively Oktoberfest, and in the evenings, I sipped Fernet and Coke while listening to cuarteto music pulsing from the bars. Córdoba blended Argentina’s old soul with its youthful spirit, and I felt it pulling me into its rhythm. Finally, I journeyed to Rosario, set along the broad, shimmering Paraná River. Often overshadowed by its bigger sibling, Buenos Aires, Rosario surprised me with its relaxed charm and pride. It’s the birthplace of Che Guevara and Lionel Messi, and you can feel that revolutionary and athletic spirit in its streets. I walked the riverfront promenade at sunset, passed local artists selling their crafts, and visited the towering National Flag Monument, a proud symbol of Argentine identity. Rosario offered a more intimate, human-scaled experience, cultural but unpretentious, energetic but laid-back.Each city added a layer to my understanding of Argentina: Buenos Aires taught me about passion, Mendoza about peace, Córdoba about spirit, and Rosario about pride. But beyond the cities, it was the people who truly brought the country to life. Whether I was being invited to share a mate under a shade tree, swapping stories with fellow travelers over asado, or dancing into the night with strangers who became friends, I felt something I hadn’t expected: a sense of belonging.Argentina is a country of contrasts, urban sophistication and wild landscapes, European flair and indigenous roots, soulful tradition and vibrant innovation. My time there wasn’t just a trip; it was an immersion into a culture that celebrates life with intensity, beauty, and a kind of melancholic joy that stays with you long after you’ve left. When I look back on my journey, it’s not just the sights I remember, it’s the feeling of being alive in Argentina.</p>
