We had an amazing time "glamping" in Wadi Rum in Jordan. This was no mere camping experience-our luxury tent came complete with a full, clean restroom with a shower, mirror, dressers, etc. and the spacious bedroom had really comfortable beds. Our campsite was complete with an on-site and delicious restaurant serving local cuisine, but it was the service that stood out. Gathering around the campfire in the evening with unlimited arabic tea to keep you warm on a chilly evening and listening to arabic music into the night. Our next day in Wadi Rum was full of adventure! We hopped into the back of a truck and drove through the desert to see stunning sights like Lawrence's House, Lawrence's Spring, Anfaishiyya inscriptions, and the famous rock bridges of Wadi Rum. Every stop was plentiful with tea and local Bedouin crafts were available everywhere.

Our trip continued to beautiful Petra! I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan so this definitely ticked one off of my bucket list. We took the high road by horse well above the main attractions to take in the sights from above. Seeing the vast landscape of the unique mountains around Petra was amazing! We hiked on foot up to the High Place of Sacrifice and returned to the main city to see the sights like the Royal Tombs, Djinn blocks, obelisks of the Romans, and of course, the Treasury. We finished our road to the treasury by camel-it's expensive but worth it for the picture at the end. And of course, we exited via the Siq...or as I like to call it the "Canyon of the Crescent Moon". Did you know, it is not actually a canyon, which is a gorge carved out by water, but it is actually a single block that has been pulled apart due to the tectonic plates shifting? No matter what you call it, you will be in awe of the 200 meter high walls as you walk through them. Jordan is an amazing sight and could easily be added on to a Holy Land or Egypt trip.
