Exploring and Restoring: Swan Hellenic Diana

Greetings, fellow adventurers! I'm excited to share the details of my recent voyage aboard the Swan Hellenic SH Diana. This unique "Explore & Restore" cruise with the legendary Deepak Chopra promised an enriching blend of exploration and wellness, but my personal journey took me on a different path of discovery. Our voyage began in the bustling city of New York, sailed through the picturesque Cape Cod Canal, and included memorable stops in Provincetown, Boston, and Halifax.Setting Sail from New YorkOur journey commenced in the iconic New York Harbor, where the sight of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline filled me with anticipation. Boarding the elegant SH Diana, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming crew. The ship itself was a marvel of modern luxury, designed for comfort and exploration. One delightful feature was the cozy fireplaces in most cabins, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere as we sailed through cooler waters.Through the Cape Cod CanalAs we sailed through the Cape Cod Canal, I marveled at the engineering feat that allows ships to bypass the treacherous waters of Cape Cod. The serene passage offered stunning views of quaint New England towns and lush landscapes. It was a tranquil start to our adventure, setting the tone for the days ahead.Provincetown: A Creative HavenOur first stop was Provincetown, a vibrant town at the tip of Cape Cod known for its artistic community and rich history. Wandering the charming streets, I visited local galleries, boutique shops, and enjoyed the fresh sea breeze at Herring Cove Beach. Provincetown's unique blend of culture and natural beauty was captivating, and the friendly locals made me feel right at home. While in Provincetown, I had the chance to dine at the famous Lobster Pot restaurant. Despite its name, I opted for the fish and chips instead of lobster. The meal was delicious, with crispy, golden fish and perfectly cooked fries. The Lobster Pot's reputation for excellent seafood is well-deserved, and it was a delightful dining experience.Boston: A Blend of History and ModernityNext, we sailed into Boston, a city where history and modernity coexist in perfect harmony. I spent my time exploring the Freedom Trail, visiting historic landmarks like Paul Revere's House and the Old North Church. Boston's vibrant neighborhoods, such as Beacon Hill and the North End, offered a delightful mix of old-world charm and contemporary flair. One of the highlights of my time in Boston was reconnecting with an old friend from grad school over a meal at Club Cafe. The lively atmosphere and delicious food made for a wonderful evening of reminiscing and catching up. It was a reminder of how travel not only allows us to explore new places but also to reconnect with old friends.Halifax: A Warm Welcome in Nova ScotiaOur final destination was Halifax, the lively capital of Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, my time in Halifax was limited, and I didn't have the opportunity to explore the city as much as I would have liked. However, I am thrilled to share that I will be visiting Halifax again in four months, and I am eagerly looking forward to diving into its rich maritime history and stunning coastal views.Exploring and Restoring: A Unique TwistThis "Explore & Restore" cruise featured wellness programming with Deepak Chopra, offering a range of activities designed to rejuvenate mind and body. While many passengers participated in yoga sessions, meditation workshops, and enjoyed special wellness menu items, I chose to focus on the exploration aspect of the journey. The beauty of this cruise was that it catered to diverse interests, allowing each traveler to create their own unique experience.Reflections on the VoyageTraveling aboard the Swan Hellenic SH Diana was an unforgettable experience. The ship's luxurious amenities, coupled with the opportunity to explore such diverse and historic destinations, made for a perfect journey. The cozy fireplaces in most cabins added a special touch, making each evening aboard feel like a warm retreat. Although I did not participate in the wellness programming, I appreciated the serene and restorative atmosphere it added to the voyage. As I reflect on this journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the incredible experiences and memories created along the way. From the charming streets of Provincetown to the historic sites of Boston and the welcoming shores of Halifax, each stop offered something special.I hope my tales inspire your own adventures and remind you that travel is not just about the destinations, but also about the unique experiences and personal discoveries made along the way.Bon voyage, fellow travelers! May your journeys be filled with exploration, restoration, and endless delight.

Antarctica Expedition Celebrates Beating Cancer
Robert was very professional, approachable, and informed. He worked with us to book an expedition to Antarctica with a relatively new cruise line that required more negoitation and communications back and forth on many unique details. For example, the cruise line web site didnt have an onbline booking system for excursions like sea kayaking. Robert researched this with the cruise line and got us answers in a timely manner. He got us booked for this amazing kayaking experience where as other passengers did not get booked through their agents or were wait listed. I got to kayak near a humpback whale and that was a 'once-in-a-lifetime' nature experience. Robert did very well helping us and we had the trip of a lifetime.
