My special day in Austria with AmaWaterways
Dear friends,
I had the opportunity to embark on the Danube River cruise with AmaWaterways in November 2024 to experience their products firsthand so that I could share tips and suggestions with you all. I was hoping for great products, customer service and amenities. What I was not prepared for what turned out to be the experience of a lifetime, the unforgettable memories built and the cultural immersion which I will share in other blogs. Today, I just want to share a birthday celebration I will never forget.AmaWaterways goes above and beyond to celebrate us. If you are celebrating a wedding anniversary or birthday, the Chef will bake a special cake for the occasion, compliments of AmaWaterways. On this particular sailing, there was a band that joined the journey for their first AwaWaterways experience as a group, on the AmaLea ship from Hungary to Germany via Slovakia and Austria. When the band learned it was my birthday, after dinner that evening in the lobby where we gather to dance, socialize and relax, the singer said a little bird told him it was someone`s birthday. He then asked me if I had any request, so unexpectedly! Even though I was traveling alone, I chose Tennessee Whiskey because I like that song very much. Well, a lady at our table just "voluntold" her husband as a dance partner so that on my birthday, with AmaWaterways and with my sailing mates, I can feel celebrated and special. THAT is a night I will forever cherish, dancing on AmaLea somewhere in Austria!
