Balkissa Abdoulaye

I founded Prospect Travel Agency in July 2021, driven by two lifelong passions: my love for travel and my natural inclination to plan, organize, and create meaningful experiences for others. What began as helping friends and family plan trips soon evolved into a professional calling, one that blends firsthand travel knowledge with strong event-planning and coordination skills.

Born and raised in Francophone Africa, travel has been part of my story from an early age. At 18, I spent a transformative month in Lyon, France. That journey exposed me to experiences that shaped how I view travel today, harvesting grapes in a vineyard, camping in the Alps, and river cruising through charming towns where evenings were spent connecting with locals. It was my first true understanding of travel as immersion, not just movement, and it sparked a deep desire to explore more of the world. Although I didn’t always have the luxury to travel freely, I made the most of every opportunity. Over the years, I’ve explored many West African countries, including Togo, Benin, Burkina-Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Nigeria, and Morocco in North Africa. My European travels include Belgium (Namur, Bruges, Brussels, and Ostend) and France (Lyon, Dijon, Paris, Le Mans, Mâcon, and Strasbourg).

Most recently, I experienced a European River Cruise with AmaWaterways aboard the AmaLea, sailing from Hungary to Germany through Slovakia and Austria. I intentionally travel this way to experience itineraries firsthand learning what works, what to avoid, and how to elevate the experience for my clients. My background in planning and coordinating events allows me to approach travel with a strategic and thoughtful lens. From managing complex itineraries and group logistics to anticipating details that make a journey seamless, I treat every trip like a well-executed event carefully planned, personalized, and stress-free for my clients.

In the summer of 2021, I completed a Travel Advisor Certification program, and Prospect Travel Agency was established soon after. I am also a Jamaica Travel Specialist and a Certified Specialist with AmaWaterways and Avalon Cruises.
