We began in Seattle, one of the most beautiful departure ports in the U.S. Sailing through Puget Sound as the skyline slowly disappeared was the perfect start to what would become an extraordinary adventure. From the moment I stepped onboard the Oceania Riviera, I felt the difference. This ship is refined yet relaxed, luxurious without being formal, and designed for travelers who appreciate thoughtful details, impeccable service, and world-class cuisine.
The Oceania Riviera truly feels like a floating boutique hotel. Known for its culinary excellence, every meal was an experience in itself. Haines – A hidden gem surrounded by towering mountains and raw wilderness. It felt untouched and deeply authentic, offering a quieter, more intimate look at Alaska.
Icy Strait Point – One of the best wildlife destinations in Alaska. Eagles, whales, and bears are often spotted here, and the natural beauty is breathtaking. This stop truly captures Alaska in its purest form.
Klawock – Small, intimate, and culturally rich. Learning about Tlingit heritage here made this port incredibly special and deeply meaningful.
Wrangell – Historic, charming, and surrounded by wilderness. It felt like stepping into Alaska’s living history with endless natural beauty.
Sitka – One of the most stunning and culturally rich ports in Alaska. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and ocean views, Sitka blends Russian heritage, Native Alaskan culture, and breathtaking natural scenery. It felt peaceful, soulful, and deeply connected to Alaska’s past and present.
Then there was the unforgettable highlight:Hubbard Glacier. Sailing into Hubbard Glacier is something you feel in your soul.
