I experienced a stay at Unico 2087 earlier this year and I want to describe what an experience to this unique resort is like! UNICO 2087 is an adults only, luxury all-inclusive resort south of Playa del Carmen in Tulum. It is a little over an hour away from the Cancun airport. When you arrive at the resort, you are greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a nice cool towel to freshen up after traveling. Instead of going to a front desk and waiting in line to check in, they will escort you to a comfy couch in the lobby and bring the check in experience to you.  

Unparalleled Service

Everyone we came into contact with from the moment we arrived was helpful and accommodating. You will be paired up with a “local host” upon checkin, who will help with anything you need during your stay. You are able to text them through Whatsapp and they will make dinner reservations for you, help you with any excursions or activities, or book spa appointments. After check in, your local host will walk you through the resort to your room, pointing out details you will need during your stay. We stayed in an ocean front room with a king bed which included a balcony with a nice couch and a huge Jacuzzi!  

Boutique Hotel Feel at a Resort

The decor at Unico was unlike anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The resort had such an incredible eye for detail. It feels like you are staying at a small, trendy boutique hotel–but with several pools, an amazing spa and numerous restaurant options. The rooms were spacious, pristine and luxurious! You can choose a swim up room, a balcony room which all face the ocean, an ocean front room, or a suite. All rooms except the swim up rooms include the jacuzzi tub on the balcony!

Quality Food Options

When a lot of people hear “all inclusive resort,” you mind doesn't usually go to high-end food, but Unico turned that around. One of our favorite unique options was their broccoli tacos (I promise they are amazing!) and the sushi was some of the best I have ever had. I have a food sensitivity and they were able to accommodate with ease at every restaurant. They provide options for those looking for lighter, healthier fare or those wishing to indulge while on vacation. 

Beach vs. Pool

The beach could be looked at as a downside for some - but it has good reason! Surrounded by palm trees, it is protected by the second largest reef in the world, which at times (not all!) can create some issues with seaweed. So, if beach is a top priority, keep this in mind. However, what they may lack in beach they make up for in their pools! They have two main pools, one which has a DJ a few days a week, and a quiet pool behind the main pool. 

Great for Groups and Couples!

When you think of adult-only, your mind automatically goes to romance - but what I love about this resort is you can get that romance, but it's a great resort for groups of friends to get together! We traveled with a group of about 16 couples and the vibe for the group was consistent throughout the whole trip! We all had a blast! 

I highly recommend this resort for couples, friends, or groups to getaway for an adults only beach getaway.
