As a Wellness Specialist I think it's important to try different types of 'wellness' trips, be it visiting a spa for a few days, or taking a Wellness tour. 

I enjoy travelling with G Adventures and was excited to experience one of their new Wellness trips.  Costa Rica was a country that I hadn't visited so I decided to take an 8 day Wellness Costa Rica tour with G Adventures. 

We toured around the country spending 2 nights in 3 of the main areas that we wanted to explore.  As well as 5 included yoga classes, with 3 different instructors we also got to see some of the countryside, volcano Arenal and Pacific Coast beaches.   

We took a tour of a coffee plantation, tried stand up paddle boarding followed by yoga on the paddle board which was quite hard and a very good test of balance.  Also included was a surfing lesson, again, a very good test of balance. 

One evening we went to a thermal hot water spa which had 5 different pools of varying temperature, heated naturally, in a very beautiful and magical setting.  Another evening we went to a more rustic thermal spa and thermal mud pools in the jungle, again, a very magical and bonding experience with a group of 16 like minded women from around the world. 

There were optional activities too if you chose to be a little more adventurous and push your comfort zone.  I tried zip lining, rock climbing, both of which challenged by fear of heights.  

This is a great trip if you want to combine a little adventure with a little yoga and healthy living.
