From Cliffs to Trip through South Italy

From Cliffs to Trip through South Italy

We began our adventure in Positano, where the pastel houses clung to the cliffs as if painted into the sky, and every winding stairway revealed a new view of the glittering Amalfi Coast. The days started with the smell of espresso drifting from tiny cafés, and we couldn’t help but linger over fresh pastries before setting out. The warmth of the people matched the golden light on the sea, and it felt as though we were welcomed into a rhythm of life that was both slow and joyful. From there, we set off inland, trading the coast for the unique charm of Alberobello, with its whitewashed trulli houses capped by stone cones that looked like something from a fairytale. We wandered the narrow lanes, ducking into little shops and stopping to sample local olive oil and wine. The hospitality here was remarkable—every smile and story shared with us felt genuine, as if strangers were eager to make us part of their world, even if just for a moment. Our path took us to Bari, a city that pulsed with energy by the Adriatic. In the old town, we watched women hand-roll orecchiette right on the street, their fingers shaping pasta with the ease of generations of practice. We sat at rustic trattorias, savoring seafood so fresh it tasted like the sea itself, paired with bold southern wines. The bustle of the port, the charm of the old stone streets, and the warmth of locals made Bari a place that felt alive in every sense. Then came Matera, perhaps the most striking stop of all. The sassi, ancient cave dwellings carved into the cliffs, glowed golden at sunset. Walking there felt like stepping back through centuries, yet it was also alive with modern creativity—restaurants tucked into caves, art galleries hidden down winding paths. The contrast between old and new fascinated us, and the food here was soulful: earthy breads, rich cheeses, and simple dishes prepared with such care that every bite tasted like tradition itself. Our journey ended in Sorrento, perched above the sea with lemon groves perfuming the air. It was the perfect farewell, a place that felt both lively and serene. We toasted our adventure with limoncello, laughing over shared memories—the endless meals, the stories from strangers who quickly became friends, the feeling of being embraced by a culture that celebrates food, family, and life itself. At every stop, what stood out as much as the breathtaking landscapes was the kindness of the people and the pride they carried in their traditions. The trip wasn’t just about seeing places; it was about being welcomed into them, and tasting the heart of Italy in every dish we shared.

Best senior spring break trip!
Susan was extremely helpful in booking our hotel reservation at the SLS Beverly Hills. She understood exactly what we wanted out of the trip, and the location was perfect for accessing West Hollywood and the Beverly Hills business district, and it was only a short drive from the Santa Monica Pier. She suggested amazing restaurants in Malibu and throughout West Hollywood and aided us with booking those reservations, as well. Additionally, Susan was able to recommend fantastic, worth while hikes and sight seeing tours/activities. Overall, she was very accommodating and seemed well versed in what the greater LA area had to offer. Will definitely be working with her again soon!

Most relaxing beach vacation ever!
Susan was a pleasure to worth with from our first conversation. She is a consumate professional who understands value. We were traveling for the first time to the Caribbean and wanted a luxury resort, on a quiet beach but wanted to avoid an all inclusive. She recommended that we stay at Cap Juluca and we couldn't have been more delighted with her suggestion. I would recommend her to anyone planning a vacation without hesitation.
