This, dear readers, was only the overture to my unforgettable adult-only Adventures by Disney journey through Egypt!

A Day in the Museum: Breath-taking in More Ways Than One

One of our first adventures led us into the heart of Cairo’s treasures, introducing us to the intriguing world of Pharaohs recaptured at the Egyptian Museum. Guided by a savvy Egyptologist, we stood in the sanctum of Egypt’s glorious history, our eyes feasting on the opulence of King Tutankhamun’s collection. Each artefact, splendid and commanding, narrated tales from epochs that preceded the mighty Romans, a testament to human drive and creativity.

The Pyramids at Dusk: A Pharaoh’s Lure

The tranquil evening, as the sun set, where the echoing day-tourist footsteps were replaced by soft whispers of the wind, amplified the Pyramids' timeless aura. Being there – just our group and these enduring sentinels of history – was enchanting, intimate and enthralling, a VIP experience far removed from the bustling crowds.

Trading in Khan El-Khalili: A Bazaar Experience!

Tucked within Cairo’s historic core, we ventured into the labyrinth of crammed streets that make up the Khan El-Khalili Market. The sheer assortment of knick-knacks was mind-boggling, my hands adorning a wooden handcrafted camel one moment and a delicate piece of silver jewelry the next. How compactly worlds of human creativity fit within this market’s confines! We also enjoyed a delicious lunch just outside the market, where we had the opportunity to sample one of the countries delicacies you’ll have to visit to learn what that may have been!

A Cruise Down the Nile: Charting the Course of History

After exploring Cairo, we headed to the Nile River to explore more rich treasures in Egypt. Your breath catches as you see Luxor Temple bathed in the evening lights, in the VIP after hours experience, and realize the fabled Nile, quietly unfurling before your vessel, is your compass. As the mighty Karnak Temple arose on the horizon, shreds of remembrance from the 'Prince of Egypt' animated in my mind, making reality even more surreal.

Sharm El Sheikh: Where the Desert Meets the Sea

As a closing note, nothing was quite like basking in the glow of the golden sun in Sharm El Sheikh. Relaxing at an all-inclusive resort, resting up after an adventurous tour of Egypt. We also cruised to Ras Mohammed National Park, where we marveled at the kaleidoscope that came alive under the Red Sea's surface as we snorkeled.  Back ashore, as we meandered through the historic old city, the reality of the journey we had just experienced started to sink in.

When I look back, I realize it was the perfect blend; the curated craft of adults-only, crowd-free experiences fashioned an engagement with the ancient world I could have only daydreamed about.
