For more than three decades, I worked as an IT professional, and I found that it was challenging to work with people who were always dealing with a problem. I was only called upon when an issue came up, and therefore I was almost always greeted with frustration and irritation.

Feeling unfulfilled by this, I decided to take my career in a new direction and become a travel agent. Now, I get to work with people who are happy and excited about exploring a new destination. I greet my clients with a smile, and they are always ready to send one back in return!

As a travel agent, I specialize in booking:

• Luxury Resort Vacations — I believe that a stay at a luxury resort on a Caribbean island is just what the body and soul needs to recover from the chaos of daily life. I enjoy matching my clients with resort destinations that will suit their personal styles.
• Adventure Travel — While some people want to escape to a place where they can lounge on a beach, others crave the thrill of an adventure. I enjoy creating personalized itineraries for my active travelers that include exciting adventures, such as hiking tours to nearby ruins or ziplining over the jungle canopy.

My own experiences abroad have taken me to many islands in the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic and St. Thomas. The most memorable trip for me was a vacation to Great Exuma, in the Bahamas. The shallow water that surrounds the island is crystal clear, and I was able to enjoy a unique excursion where we swam with pigs.
