Amazing Adventure

Best trip that I could dream about.

Val is an awesome Travel Agent. My experience was excellent from booking to the actual trip. Tranfers to and from the airport were taken care of. Val was very helpful in suggesting various excursions. Any questions I had were promtly answered. Any issues while at the resort were taken care of quickly. I would definatly use Wanderlust Getaway again. highly recommend Wanderlust Getaway.

First trip since the pandemic began

Val was amazing to work with. Her detailed travel documents, recommendations and instructions were amazing. She puts a lot of time into preparing information for her clients and it was appreciated. She was always very reachable which was great as I had so many questions travelling for the first time since the pandemic. All the new restrictions and requirements were all laid out for us in one spot thanks to Val. Will for sure be booking a trip with her again.

Amazing trip to Europe

As it was our first time travelling to Europe we needed help figuring out stops, options, hotels, and adding a river cruise. Val was very helpful and informative through the whole process while allowing us some flexibility to work with our particular tastes.

Very Organized and Easy to Reach

We have used Val for our last 4 travel experiences, all which have been amazing. Val is very organized and she emails you very detailed step by step instructions as to what you need to do to be ready for your trip. She is always quick to respond to emails even last minute when I have a question or need purchase insurance. The best trip of our lives

All the arrangements for transportation went smoothly. The resort destination was spectacular. The resort was a terrific fit for our family. We all enjoyed ourselves and would really like to go back when we can afford it.

Incredible Experience!

We had not been on an internation trip in 10 years and Val made it a complete sucess for us. She gave us informed and honest feedback with all of our questions regarding the type of resort as well as conherent and fast reponses to all of our questions before, during, and after the trip. We went to the Playa Del Carmen area near Tulum and we had the best time. The resort we chose through her suggestions was outstanding and we have no complaints whatsoever. She helped us stay informed during a dicey time politically in Mexico and gave us the confidence we needed that should anything become unceratin, that she had the our backs and could help us get to where we needed to be. That being said, there were no safety concerns or feelings of uncertainty during our stay in Mexico.

So helpful!

Val was so helpful in finding my friend’s and I the perfect trip to Mexico. With 6 adults and 7 kids in our group, we had a lot of specific needs and requests. Val was so patient as we changed our requests multiple times in the process of planning and in the end landed on a great resort, within our budget, that met everybody’s needs and requests. Val is the MOST amazing travel agent ever!

We had an incredible experience working with our travel agent to plan a group trip to Mexico for three families with young kids. She truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. With different ages, preferences, and needs across our families, there were plenty of requests and questions—but she was endlessly patient and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She was relentless in finding the perfect resort for our group, and it turned out to be the best vacation we’ve had yet. Her communication was impressively fast, and we always felt supported and informed. We especially loved how she organized everything in her fantastic travel app, which made keeping track of plans and details so easy. Thanks to her hard work and organization, our trip was seamless and unforgettable. Mexico all inclusive stay

Tho I have no other experience with an all inclusive resort I found the staff to be friendly and fun while I practiced my Spanish language skills with them and learned new vocabulary. At the dinners the servers were so fun and helpful when it came to suggestions. I even eat the chocolate grasshopper. What I would have liked to have know before going to the resort was the barcelo fb page. I learned a lot from the feed. I definitely recommend the adult resort as we had more space and we had chairs available for everyone whether it be at the pool or at the beach. We also had the best beach no rocks only rocks in the water. The quieter setting was so relaxing. Having the freedom to explore the other 5 resorts and play at the casino shop at the mall made the stay feel a little adventurous while staying at one resort.

The best trip

Working with Val from start to finish was truly a wonderful experience. She helped us arrange our destination wedding trip for my fiancé, myself, and our family and friends, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Premium Southeast Asia

We went on a 24 day guided tour and also 10 days afterward on our own. The guided tour was thru Intrepid (Premium) and was amazing. We went to Phuket after the tour and spent 10 days booked thru EXO. It also was lovely. Val Burnett arranged all of our travel arrangements, tours and was so awesome to work with. We would love to work with Val again for another journey!

Great Large Family Trip

Val was great, professional, approachable and efficient. We were a group of five families, 15 in total. We initially were booked in Jamaica until the hurricane. Val was successfull in getting us rebooked to a great family resort in Punta Cana. She was always available and did more for us than any agent I have ever worked with. Diligent work ethic

Val thinks of everything. She understood before we did that we would have a long day of travel and she prebooked us dinner reservations. Val took time with me while on her own vacation to ensure my flights were correct and corresponded with my travel companions. She provides a detailed itinerary through Trip Plans app to have all critical items available in one spot. This includes how shuttles will work, reminders and of course airline tickets and hotel information etc.

A travel agent who cares!

Val organize and gave precise information for the whole trip with constant follow up. All aspects of a trip were done with the most professionalism I’ve seen. Tahiti, French Polynesia. Our most amazing vacation yet.

Travelling to Tahiti, French Polynesia and embarking on a 7 day Windstar Cruise was truly amazing. The smaller but still lavishly outfitted cruise ship is the only way to go. Crew members aboard the ship developed very personal connections with the passengers. All the excursions really did allow everyone to touch, feel, and see the local cultures. I can see another Windstar Cruise happening.

Memorable Trip

We’ve been home just over a week and getting through the transition from spectacular vacation to ordinary life! The safari we did in Kenya was outstanding. We enjoyed both our hotels in Amsterdam. Spain and Croatia 3 week trip

Val did a very thorough job of planning our 3 week trip to Spain and Croatia. We had three locations in Spain and five in Croatia. Flights were good, hotels were picked with great locations, private transfers, numerous tours were all booked. We had contact with in country experts with almost daily reminders of itinerary. Our trip was complex, well planned and well documented to ensure we had a stress free trip. Val is very thorough and knowledgeable.

Rocky Mountaineer and Vancouver highlights

Val did an awesome job of putting together the details of a 65th birthday celebration trip for us aboard the Rocky Mountaineer as well as a couple of days in Vancouver. She gathered all of the details needed as it related to our interests, the timeline we had and how we wanted to organize our days in Vancouver. This is the first time I have used an agent to organize one of our trips - I have always put together the details of our travel plans in the past and so was a little nervous about just letting go of this. I had no reason to worry - Val did an excellent job of choosing perfect excursions and putting an itinerary together that was very well organized! She loaded our trip onto Trip Plans, which we had never used before, where our documents and details were accessible - it was so useful. DisneyLand 2025

I have had the pleasure of working with Val 3 times now and every time my vacations have been smooth and amazing. This year with the Air Canada strike looming, Val contacted me to inform me and helped me navigate the whole process. We had the most amazing time and my 10-year old son smiled from ear to ear all day/every day! That was all I needed to enjoy myself on this vacation. An amazing time in Disney

We had an amazing time, the boys loved it. The hotel was a great location, and our balcony overlooked Disney so we got a great view of the fireworks works each night they were displayed. All in all we were really happy and appreciated the time you took to throw this together for us. I really found the travel app quite handy, it was nice to have everything in one location so thank you for that. We would definitely book though you again, no questions asked. Thanks again

Our trip was excellent!

Everything went very smoothly and we were quite pleased with the resort. It met or exceeded all expectations. The family room was perfect and very spacious. I think we ended up with the best room in the resort location wise! The resort offered excellent activities, food options were good, staff were very friendly. We commented numerous times that we felt we were getting very good value out of our trip. I have already recommended it to another family. I don’t think there was even one “bad” to this trip that could be improved on or that I would like to have been aware of before choosing this resort or location. Thanks again.

Japan Was Great

Japan - loved everything we saw. Had a great guide. Did not struggle with the activity level. We both acknowledge that it was easier to navigate in Japan with a guide, no question about that. The itinerary was very good except for the volcano at Lake Hakone - not super interesting but all else was great. Love staying at the monastery, loved Kyoto etc. So all good.

*Our experience could not be described any other way but Amazing! From air fare to Safari reservations , there was not a time when we were disappointed in either the service or accommodations. The best planned short road trip I’ve ever taken

Val was a wonderful discovery for me because it was just a random connection on the Internet. And it proved to be very very fruitful. I have already recommended Val to several friends who are hoping to travel in Canada soon the trip suggestions and arrangements she made for us were absolutely by following her recommendations and based on her experience, she made reservations in the two most heavily trafficked attractions the Columbia ice fields and a boat rate dried on the lake. All the other suggested locations we stopped at were on Val‘s itinerary. The hotel accommodations were all great and there were no mixups whatsoever And the next time I take a trip to Canada I’m gonna talk to Val.

Great service on a short timeline

We decided to take our first big overseas trip as a family of 5 in March, travelling in May. Val was able to book direct flights, great hotels, and book a tour for us in a short amount of time and within our time frame and budget. While I'd recommend planning further ahead than we did, the trip was great and everything went smoothly.

Serendipitous Peru

The first time I called Val to talk about possible travel ideas, she mentioned a trip she had coming up to Peru with 10 women, of which she was one. I thought, why not take advantage of being retired and without dependents? We saw a lot of country without any hassle. Val was not leading our tour, but she was always open to answering any questions I had about what was happening or up next.

Professional and very thorough travel agent!

I used Val for the first time for parts of my three month vacation in Asia. I don't normally use a travel agent, but I may reconsider now as Val provided services I wouldn't get by booking on my own. Ours was a 7 Day Western Caribbean Cruise --- Val works hard to find alternatives to one's needs, offering options. Her experience finding winning vacations to meet client needs is evident. An amazing trip!

Val was "All In" to help us have the best trip ever! Best of Belize

Val is a great communicator, we were given all the information we needed for, and more, to ensure a successful experience in Belize. Moving destinations was seamless, our questions answered and our needs met, we all enjoyed a memorable adventure. Belize g adventures

Val did an amazing job providing all the details for our trip including the tour and our time post tour. She was very available for any questions that I had. I should have taken more time to review all the information she gave, and in a very well organized manner. There was a lot of information and advice there. I wish I had known about the constant need for tipping for this trip. It felt like a bit of a cash hemmorage. That and the US $ rate, but that can't be helped.

Our family trip was amazing.

My niece Kendra chose the Royalton Splash in Cancun for a family trip. We were 21 persons total. Val took care of the bookings from 4 different locations in Canada. Amazing family trip.

Fight was great, once landed as expected and well informed of other venders try to sell you nuisance. Our driver to the resort was on time and pleasant. Checking into the hotel HARD ROCK MAYAN was fast and refreshing, by giving us guest rewards to activities. My family and I loved the resort. Absolutely no complaints and our vacation was unforgettable. A little alarming when it was time to get a hold of our drive back to the airport. Hard to contact the company’s personnel. And everyone in the front outside lobby “valet” personal acted like they had no idea of our bus or the schedule. But got it all sorted and luckily the bus was waiting for us.

Sisters trip to Mahekal Beach Resort, Playa Del Ca

We contacted Val for some suggestions for our trip. We knew which side of the country we wanted to be on, other than that we knew what we wanted, but had no idea how to find what would check our boxes. After two conversations Val had a couple of suggestions, one of which nailed it!!!! Everything was seamless and went smoothly.The resort itself is beautiful! The grounds are stunning and there are so many pathways to explore. It's right on the beach and also within easy walking distance to some really cool shopping areas. The staff were absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. There were only two restaurants, but the food was great! The menu at the buffet changed frequently so we felt we had lots of variety. There are four pool/ beach bars so plenty of places to get a margarita or a Pina colada! And service on the beach was great. This is a family friendly resort with 24 hour security which I would highly recommend.

Super wonderful vacation

We had a super wonderful vacation. The resort was nice, nothing crazy but clean and nice. The food was delicious at all of the restaurants and they had plenty to choose from. The resort was very secure and super chill. Other than the lack of an amazing beach, it was perfect and easily good for adults and kids alike. A much needed vacation...

A much needed vacation in a beautiful resort ! Seriously though.. What a beautiful spot !! The rooms were super spacious & I swear every room on that resort has at least somewhat of an ocean view. We originally had plans to do some excursions but we were more than comfortable to relaxing around the resort for the week, having some good food, drinking some good drinks ??. Staff were all super fun & made you want to hang around ! Entry & exit was really easy. All the information you sent had us more than prepared for sure. Hard Rock

Our trip was great despite the few hiccups of delays out of Kelowna, delayed luggage, but... The hard rock was excellent. We enjoyed the many pools. We’d pick a different one each day. Our room - Islander Jr suite with 2kings was perfect for our family of 4. I’m so glad we waited for that! The Hard Rock had the the best food I’ve ever had at an all inclusive. Everything was so fresh. Kids enjoyed the waterpark, mini golf, arcades etc. I really don’t think there was anything that could have been improved on. All in all it was a huge success! Thank you for everything!!! Can’t wait til next time!

Fantastic vacation

We LOVED Huatulco! The resort itself, Secrets, was fantastic. The rooms are in three separate buildings, all built into the side of a hill, all facing the ocean, so they all have the same stunning view. The drinks flowed freely and we had fantastic service! The food was great and service was better! The beach is quite steep, but the view is phenomenal! They hung a Happy Anniversary banner on our door the first day or so, and we got pampered the whole time we were there with rose petals or other flowers arranged on the bed most days. All-in-all, it was a fantastic vacation.

Our Wedding

I would like to say that one of the most memorable parts of our destination wedding was having YOU! It was so nice to have someone there to help coordinate everyone and keep everything on track and organized for the guests! Also thank you very much for the gift, it was super thoughtful and a nice little touch to our special day! My maid of honor opened it for me on the wedding day while we were in the room gathering things I needed to get ready in her room , and if I had opened it myself I think I would have probably cried (I was very emotional all day - haha). It was a blast!

I had a really great time at the RIU resort in Mazatlan. The staff at the resort were very nice and helpful if I had a question or needed help. I also met a lot of other Canadians and had a great time, we exchanged info and plan to keep in touch. The two weeks went by so fast before I knew it it was over. I also went for walks most days. All in all it was a blast and I want to thank you for every thing! Thank you again!

Group Trip Made Easy!

Val was awesome. She was so helpful with planning our trip and super prompt with all forms of communication. We travelled with a group of 12 people and it was a lot of work to get everything organized and ensure everyone's paperwork was taken care of. Val helped with it all and completely took the stress off of our shoulders. After trying to get a Europe vacation planned with two other travel agents Val was my last resort. I was blunt and said tell me if you can’t do it. She said no problem I will get back to you on Tuesday. This was a Friday and she did get back to me and planned my vacation seamlessly. 50th Friendaversary !

Another Stress-Free Dream Vacation

From the beginning, from starting with enquiring about our destination desires, to providing us with options, ie: cruise ships, all inclusive adults only resorts, recommendations to different resorts; she's been there through it all. Even though she was on holidays herself, she still kept in touch via text and email, asking if there was anything she could do to improve our vacation. She even gave us tips on how to get around our resort easier, and provided us with new drink suggestions. Throughout it all, she went above and beyond.

Amazing vacation

Val was very knowledgeable. She recommended the resort, which was great choice for my family. We received great advice on what to expect and how to take advantage during our stay. She went the extra mile when we had a flight delay coming home, she was able to get in contact with the shuttle to delay our pickup. I would highly recommend Val at Wanderlust Getaway!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We recently planned a vow renewal in Mexico for our group of 30ppl coming from multiple locations. Val was very helpful researching properties & locations that would accommodate all age groups from all our departure cities. We opted for RIU Dunamar in Costa Mujeres and there was something there to suit everyone! Val was very thorough booking our trip, making sure everyone had all the info they needed before departure from checking on passport requirements to offering packing lists. She also provided info on our destination (places to shop, restaurants to eat at and places to see) with options for excursions as well. Val checked in with us once we arrived in Mexico and is actually still in communication with us as we continue to sort out some Sunwing issues. All in all Val was wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend her! Thanks for making our family celebration so memorable Val!

Great Trip!

Planning our trip to Venice & Croatia with Val was a great experience, we had many 'moving parts', flights, transfers, hotels, tours ...... etc, all went exactly as described and planned. We also purchased our travel insurance through Val, she is very knowledgeable and selected the specific coverage for our needs. Val is attentive to every detail sending updates and information throughout the process, and was always available, responding to our many questions in a very timely manner. Best all inclusive deal in Cancun

Val was extremely helpful with getting us a good deal for Planet Hollywood Cancun. We were able to get Star Class + Adult Zone which was much better than the deals we were finding on our own. The resort was great and we enjoyed all the amenities and restaurants. I would highly recommend getting Star Class because you get special treatment and reservation privileges at the restaurants. Otherwise you will be waiting 1+ hours for dinner. Can’t wait to book with Val again for our next vacation!!

Great experience!

We just returned from 1 week holiday to Punta Cana. Val helped us with booking this trip and she coordinated it with our friends trip as well. She was very helpful throughout the hotel booking process and was able to utilize her contacts to arrange our desired room category that was not initially available. Prior to travel she provided an amazing app that contained all our necessary documents, information and links required for the journey. The start of our trip became a bit complicated as there were weather delays but she was in contact with us throughout that entire time. It was so reassuring to know she was available to help if necessary. She gave us lots of great advice and tips before and during the vacation. I can’t wait to utilize her expertise again and I’ve already recommended her to many of my friends!

Wonderful bucket list trip!

Val is awesome. We had some hiccups on our first few days, and the resort was not stepping up to assist, Val stepped in and shit happened!! We had top notch service after that. She's our go-to travel person. There is nothing left to question or worry about, and if there is, you just ask her and she takes care of it.

Awesome family holiday!!!!

Very Efficient and always there for you

Val is very efficient, and knows her stuff. She is very thorough, explaining everything, answering all our questions. She has been there for us at midnight and 6:00 am. when we had issues. It feels like she follows our flights until we arrive safely in destination and back. Travel (especially now) can have hiccups and bumps with airlines, etc. Knowing that Val is there for us is a relief. While she sat on the phone for hours re-arranging our flights and accommodations, we went to the beach. Using a travel agent is a wonderful resource to have and Val is the best. I highly recommend her.

Wow, what a vacation!

Val went above and behind to make sure we had everything we needed to have a fun and relaxing trip. Stress free

Val was the first time using a travel agent for booking a trip. I will never go on another trip without using her again. She planned for a group of 20 of us for a wedding destination. It was an amazing resort she suggested. She was very prompt with replies if I had any questions at all as there is always some from a group. We had a couple people from our group that had to deplane due to being sick on the way home.We contacted her quite late at night and she took care of looking to get the couple home the next day. I was even more impressed. I highly recommend her.

The best trip ever!

Val made everything so easy! From planning our trip, to our excursions (Highly recommend Selvatica and the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary!) everything was perfect. The electronic itinerary was so helpful, and provided all the information we needed to start our trip off stress free! Good Times in Mexico

Val Burnett of Wanderlust Getaway Travel Agency has gone above and beyond for us, talked me out of the rafters when it felt like my world was falling apart when we encountered one problem after another. She was the voice of reason when our flight was cancelled and we had no idea what to do or where to turn next. She was there for us through all our ups and downs of this vacation, whether it was cancelled flights from snow storms, or leaky rooms from rain storms...she's been there to help us through whatever Mother Nature was throwing our way!

Very fun trip. Would do this again

There were a couple issues with cancelations from friends who couldn't make the trip out. Val did her best to accommodate the people who still went, providing ways to get the lowest price for her travelers. Val was very communicative and easy going which made the planning portion of the trip really easy!

Glad we found Val Burnett for our travel needs.

In the last couple of years we have been fortunate to have Val handle 4 trips for us. She proved to be exceptional in getting us a wonderful experience at a reasonable cost. However, the true measure of customer service is not when things go smoothly., it is when there are problems. Our last two trips, one to Europe and the Mediterranean and the second to Mazatlan had to be cancelled. The first due to the death of an immediate family member on the second day of our trip, the the second due to Covid-19. Val was truly amazing! She was available 24/7, and handled everything for us in a very efficient way. I should mention that the cancellation of our Mazatland trip by Sun Wing, meant Val did not get her commission for all the work she did arranging the trip, then handling all the headaches associated with the cancellation. Of all the travel agents we have used over the years, Val Burnett is by far and above the best ever! We will not use anyone else now.

Always a wonderful experience!

Val has gone above and beyond to make sure our holidays have been the best experiences we could ask for. 2019 - In Mexico she booked us into the most fabulous villa you have ever seen; 2020 - in San Juan, she arranged for early check-in for us so that we had somewhere to call home when we arrived at 7:00 am. She was always there for us, every step of the way.

Seamless Alberta Vacation

Totally relaxed!

Val was very knowledgeable about the area I was going to visit, giving tips and ideas on what to do and how to go about things, Always on call if I had any problems (only one or two minor, but sorted quickly) The itinerary was "first class", never had one quite like it before, it included everything from flight timings, transfers to resorts and between resorts, trips planned, if restaurants needed prebooking, daily trips and updated travel rules, especially covid related as they are changing quite often, even letting you know the best place for testing, if needed. There was nothing left "in doubt", everything was covered, I didn't have to worry about anything except decide what I wanted to eat lol, never had such a stress free holiday, totally needed!

Family Vacation to Playa del Carmen

Great Agent before, during and after trip.

Val was very thorough researching cruises, accommodations, activities to do while in Barcelona. She is very knowledgeable about cruises, cabin location, deals, upgrades and pre-purchases that are worthwhile. She arranges accommodations that are proven, locations and activities that are perfect. She was available by messaging late at night and very early in the morning to handle any issues. I felt Val really cared that we had a great holiday and was there for us throughout our trip.

We had a perfect vacation.

Val is the best of the best, We just couldn’t ask for a better travel advisor. She does a great job getting us into the right resort and is on top of the whole process from start to finish. I would even think of going anywhere else for our vacation needs.

Fantastic Xmas in Mexico

Val was simply fantastic! Her biggest assets are her passion for what she does (which is helping people have the vacation they always wanted) and her experience. Val knows all the ins and outs of booking vacations and is very quick to offer up tips and tricks all learned from her own experience. I am a frequent traveler but in booking a Mexico trip there was probably 5-7 things I would not have thought of. Val has it all covered. The information she sends you is all first rate. Very clear, concise, and professional. I can’t say enough about the good work Val does. What is also impressive is she is very easy to get a hold of (even late at night) if you have questions. She also follows-up to see how it all went. Highly recommend working with Val Burnett.

Best travel agent ever!

In the last couple of years we have booked 4 trips with Val Burnett. She proved to be exceptional at finding us the best holidays at reasonable prices. But.... the true measure of customer service is not when everything goes well, it is how your agent handles everything when something goes wrong. Our last two trips had to be cancelled. The first was due to the death of an immediate family member on our second day of a European holiday then a Mediterranean cruise, and the second to Mazatlan was due to Covid-19. Val was amazing! She was available 24/7, and handled everything for us with such calm efficiency. I should mention that Val lost her commission for all her work before and after the cancellation due to Covid-19, yet she worked tirelessly on our behalf. Of all our travel agents over the years, Val Burnett is by far and above, the best ever! We will not use anyone else for our travel needs now.

Making travel plans simple

Working with Val made everything so easy and streamlined. Have a problem? Talk to Val it will be cleared up in no time. Have a question about anything at all? Talk to Val if she doesn't already know the answer she will get it asap. Want a suggestion on an excursion or where to eat or almost anything? Talk to Val. A complete fountain of knowledge. What I'm trying to say is any trip I take from this day forward will be handled by this awesome company and especially this awesome lady.

Couldn't Get Better!

Val goes the extra mile and with her, there is no scrambling and travel stress! We were able to rely on her. There were a number of times during our travel, where something went wrong (i.e. flight cancelations, delays, no hotels available) but Val sorted it ALL out. The resort was stunning with amazing food, service and fishing! Perfect selection of rooms, the whole family was next to one another. Val was such a pleasure to work with, we highly recommend her exceptional service!

First time trip

Val was extremely amazing to work with and we cant wait to book with her again! She was very helpful with info about everything from stores and shops to visit to excursions and all of the above. Exceptional Service and Expertise

Val is very responsive to emails. Her prices are no more expensive than booking online, but she offers a great deal of expertise, as well as assistance while you are on your trip should something go wrong. When we had issues with our rental car and flight changes, she was available to help us out.

No price could ever replace service like this

I never thought a travel agent could save us so much money and when we really needed her with our vacation, she was right there. I could not imagine the cost and stress that Val saved us. Before our trip started we had a family emergency and could not start on time with our previous schedule. Val took control and just let us know what our new itinerary and flight schedules were. There is no price tag to that kind of service.
