Savor Snack-Time with These Disneyland® Favorites
Our Quick-Cuisine Recommendations
BROUGHT TO YOU BY DISNEYLAND® RESORT
When you hear Disneyland®, a few things tend to spring to mind. You might think of roller coasters, mouse ears and magic. But did you ever stop to consider what food is like in the Happiest Place on Earth?
It’s not the full range of mouthwatering dining options that makes the eating here so amazing; it’s that you’re never sacrificing a second of fun thanks to the variety of quick-cuisine options always on hand. You’d be stuffed if you attempted to try them all, but here are a few you won’t want to miss during your family’s adventure.
Bengal Barbecue – Nestled in the heart of Adventureland is the straw-thatched roof of Bengal Barbecue. With offerings ranging anywhere from the zesty Spring Roll to the Chieftain Chicken Skewer perfectly sautéed in Polynesian Sauce, the entire menu is equipped to please any palette. Supplement your order with the likes of a fluffy (yet flavorful) Tiger Tail Breadstick and refreshing Jungle Julep to easily turn a quick snack into a full feast. Whatever you decide, every order is perfect for savoring on-the-go between adventures. Of course, if you’re looking to sit and rest for a spell, there’s plenty of seating in the shade.
French Market Restaurant – Chowing down on the cuisine of “the Big Easy” has never been easier than at the French Market Restaurant. Situated in the middle of New Orleans Square with a commanding view of the nearby garden, French Market Restaurant offers a full range of comfort food dishes meant to make your taste buds bloom. Timeless favorites like a cup of hearty Jambalaya or the delicious Shrimp Po’ Boy Sandwich are the perfect fuel for both the body and soul, and oh-so easily enjoyed. The only delay to your day is how long you want to relish every bite.
Disney California Adventure® Park
Ghirardelli® Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop –There is possibly no better place to indulge your sweet-tooth than the Ghirardelli® Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. The menu boasts more frozen flavors, toppings, sundaes and floats than you’ll know what to do with. After an ample amount of sampling, you might settle on a single scoop of vanilla ice cream, a Treasure Island Warm Brownie Sundae or possibly a Hazelnut Latte. Whatever the perfect midday indulgence is, you’ll find it here.
Bayside Brews – Sometimes, it takes more than a lemonade to hit the spot. When that’s the case, you’ll be keen to seek out Bayside Brews, the refreshment stand for the “big kids” in your party. Easily found in Paradise Pier, you can choose from a selection of craft beers on tap, in addition to their refreshing Micheladas and Pomegranate Margaritas. Pair your beverage of choice with a mouse-eared pretzel to satisfy all the taste buds. Both beverage and pretzel are easily enjoyed on the go, but who could blame you if you decide to sit down for a moment and appreciate your sips?
Downtown Disney® District
Sprinkles – If you’ve ever had Sprinkles, it should be no surprise that their spongy cupcakes topped with delectable frosting make the list of delicious quick eats you don’t want to miss. And if you’ve never had Sprinkles, then consider this your invitation. Located conveniently in Downtown Disney District, snag a scrumptious Triple Cinnamon cupcake for breakfast before heading into the park, or take a break from the rides with a rich Red Velvet cupcake as a midday snack. Or, you can grab a box of assorted flavors for the family at the end of the day before heading back to your home-away-from-home at one of the many onsite Disney resorts. There is no wrong time for a cupcake this good.
Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s – If you’re craving the sweet and spicy joys of authentic southwestern cuisine, but don’t want to wait till the cows come home for your food, then the Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s is your best bet. Every dish is made-to-order based on your preference of ingredients, so the only limits are your imagination. Construct a beefy Barbacoa Burrito with plenty of beans and shredded cheese, or create the perfect Chicken Taco with a generous helping of Pico de Gallo and guacamole. Whatever you settle on, it’s safe to bet it pairs perfectly with a margarita at the end (or beginning!) of your day.
Now finally, a fair warning: none of these menus are carved in stone, and for good reason. The last thing you want is for the magic in a menu to go stale, and as such all snack items are subject to change. The one thing that is certain: whatever comes next on a Disneyland® menu, will be just as delicious, if not more so.
