Caribbean Cruises Top New Travel Trends Survey
2017 Fall Travel Trends Survey
by Kwin Mosby
Thinking about a fall vacay? Well, you’re in luck if you want to head south to the Caribbean! American travelers booking cruises to the Caribbean has increased by 15.6 percent this year, making it the top international destination, according to the 2017 Fall Travel Trends Survey. Vacation’s parent company, Travel Leaders Group recently released the survey, which is based on responses from 1,107 U.S.-based travel agency owners, managers, and travel agents.
And despite an active hurricane season, Caribbean cruises easily edged out London – last year’s top international destination – to secure the No. 1 spot. “Many Caribbean destinations remain unscathed and the cruise industry is responding well with itinerary changes that substitute other ports in less impacted areas,” said Ninan Chacko, chief executive officer for Travel Leaders Group. “The survey results are, therefore, a fair indicator of expected demand for Caribbean vacations.” Well, cruising or not… the Caribbean is apparently the ideal vacation destination for travelers; so, don’t give your plans another thought if you want to book a fun fall trip to tropical islands, such as Aruba, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Jamaica or St. Lucia.
