18 MONTHS FROM THE WEDDING
* Choose your destination - discuss with your significant other your ideas, hopes, expectations and travel styles. Once the conversation is started, visit a travel agent to zero in the destination that’s ideal for you

12 MONTHS FROM THE WEDDING
* Ask your travel agent to plan a site visit – some resorts will credit your stay if you choose to have your wedding there
* Consider ceremony location
Buy the dress
Set a budget
Acquire travel documents - ask your travel agent what you need to bring along
Confirm your wedding date, time and location
Make sure your passport is valid
Mail or email your "save the dates," which can include your travel agent’s contact info so that others can start booking

6 MONTHS FROM THE WEDDING
Confirm your travel plans with a deposit
Send out invitations to guests
Create a wedding registry

3 MONTHS FROM THE WEDDING
Confirm details with your vendors - speak to your wedding planner at the resort to be sure all of the details are complete, and get everything in writing!
* Buy groom's attire - be sure to think about location, temperature and color

Wedding Planning: In addition to buying a fab dress, and with help from a travel agent, you should plan a destination wedding site visit a year before your wedding date.

1-2 MONTHS FROM THE WEDDING
* Ask your travel agent to book excursions and special amenities
Consider booking a surprise for your spouse, like a couples’ massage
Any special requests upon arrival at your hotel for you and your guests
Brainstorm with your travel agent about pre-wedding events and activities for your guests, such as excursions, a welcome reception and a rehearsal dinner
Assemble and ship welcome bags for your guests or arrange with your resort to provide
Check-in with your travel agent to ensure hotel reservations for your guests have been completed
Write your vows and choose the readings for your ceremony
Have final gown fitting

1 WEEK FROM THE WEDDING
Start packing
Pack your wedding attire as a carry-on for the plane, as your flight attendant will put it away for safe keeping until you arrive at your destination
Print your travel itinerary and an agenda to hand out to your guests upon arrival
Grab your prescriptions, chargers for your electronics, sunscreen, snacks and entertainment for the airplane ride, and cameras that are charged and ready to go!
Surprise your significant other with a special gift, perhaps some wedding night attire

UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DESTINATION
Meet with the wedding planner on site
Inspect ceremony and reception sites
Confirm details with your ceremony officiant
Confirm delivery time of flowers
Have your dress pressed or steamed
Apply for a marriage license
If your destination requires an on-site blood test, make arrangements to have that done

9 MONTHS FROM HONEYMOON

Confirm with your agent what name your trip was booked under and what documents you need to bring
Make sure your passport is valid six months beyond the period or your intended stay

1-2 MONTHS FROM HONEYMOON
Ask your agent to book excursions and special amenities
Consider organizing a surprise for your spouse, like a sunset dinner cruise

1 WEEK FROM HONEYMOON
Start packing must-haves:
Travel itinerary
Prescriptions
Sunscreen
Chargers for your electronics or converters
Reading materials, movies, and a fresh music playlist
Ask your travel agent for any must-haves specific for your destination or cruise

FIRST WEEK AFTER HONEYMOON
Share your favorite honeymoon moments on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Check in with your travel agent to discuss likes and dislikes – this will help with future travel planning
