Planning an itinerary to the Caribbean can be a daunting experience, especially for those who have never traveled there. My name is Lori Heathcote, and I have been in the travel business for more than 37 years. I've also traveled extensively in the Caribbean. For example, I've been to the Rivera Maya approximately 15 times, and have escorted several groups on cruises and to all-inclusive resorts in this region. In addition, I have also booked countless vacations for my clients to the beautiful countries in the Caribbean.

My favorite country? Probably Bermuda. It was the first Caribbean country I ever visited (at the age of 12). I enjoyed myself so much on that trip that I knew -- even at that early age -- that I wanted to become a travel agent.

Although, I do arrange all types of itineraries for my clients, I do highly recommend experiencing this region aboard a cruise ship. Cruising is an amazing and incredibly easy way to visit multiple islands. You only have to unpack once, and your ship does all the hard work of traveling between the islands for you. Not a fan of cruises? Then, my next suggestion would be to stay in all-inclusive resort. Practically everything is included in the price of an all-inclusive resort, so you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Caribbean.
