Travel That Moves You Forward

Why Wild Places Matter:

I’ve always believed that wild places teach us more than any classroom. They invite us to slow down, to listen, to adapt, and to connect. Sometimes that means connecting with nature. Sometimes it means connecting with others. And sometimes, it means reconnecting with something deeper within ourselves.

A Different Kind of Travel Advisor

That belief is at the heart of my work. I help people explore wild places with confidence. My approach blends experienced guidance, curated itineraries, and real human connection to make travel more meaningful, accessible, and rewarding.

Whether your goal is an epic adventure or a quiet retreat, your trip should reflect your spirit. It shouldn’t feel like a pre-set checklist. I’m here to listen, understand what matters most to you, and help you craft a travel experience that honors it.

For the Journey That Fits Your Spirit

Maybe you’re chasing mountaintop moments. Maybe you’re seeking stillness. Either way, I’ll help you plan a journey that matches your pace, your goals, and your values.

Travel should feel like discovery, not like managing logistics. My role is to support that discovery with trusted tools, cultural insight, and the kind of local knowledge that can turn a trip into a transformation.

From your first idea to your return home, you’ll have thoughtful support every step of the way.

Clients I Work With

I work with solo travelers, couples, families, friend groups, and outdoor clubs. Most of my clients are looking for something more than a booking engine. They want purpose-filled travel with experiences that are designed with care, supported by real insight, and tailored to their needs.

Some travelers want to push their limits. Others want to slow down and reconnect. Many are hoping for a bit of both. My job is to help you find the right balance of challenge and comfort, structure and freedom.

Experience You Can Trust

I’ve spent my life exploring the outdoors. I’m a trail runner, backpacker, mountain biker, climber, paddler, sailor, and ultramarathoner. These are not just hobbies. They are how I experience the world and how I’ve learned to plan for it.

I understand the mindset of adventurers because I am one. I know how to chart the right path, adjust when conditions change, and make space for wonder even in the busiest itinerary.

Planning with Purpose

Before becoming a travel advisor, I worked in other industries helping people solve complex problems, stay focused, and make thoughtful decisions. That experience taught me how to guide others and manage the details without losing sight of the big picture.

Still, my strongest sense of purpose has always come from the trail, the water, and the wilderness. I’ve run 100 miles in a day. I’ve biked across Alaska, sailed in open water, and explored remote landscapes by foot, by canoe, and as a certified diver beneath the surface.

Those journeys taught me how to respect the unknown, prepare for surprises, and stay open to what’s possible when you let go of the ordinary.

What I Plan

I create custom itineraries for adventure travelers who are looking for more than a standard vacation. Whether you're planning a guided hiking trip in the Rockies, a solo trekking experience in Patagonia, or a small-group cultural journey through East Africa, each trip is designed to reflect your goals and travel style.

Some of the experiences I help plan include:

 • Trail-based travel and hut-to-hut hiking
 • Off-the-beaten-path safaris and wildlife trips
 • Paddling expeditions and multisport adventures
 • Small-group outdoor getaways and club retreats
 • Active honeymoons that balance challenge and comfort
 • Cultural experiences combined with nature-based exploration

If you value authenticity, flexibility, and thoughtful support from someone who understands the needs of active travelers, I can help you build a journey that moves you both physically and emotionally.

The Path Forward

Everything I have learned in the wild informs how I support travelers today. I understand both the emotional and practical sides of adventure. My goal is to walk alongside you in building a trip that is intentional, exciting, and deeply personal.

Whether you're planning your first big trek or returning to a place that already lives in your heart, I’m here to help create something that fits your style and fuels your spirit.

Let’s Get Started

If you’re ready to go somewhere that moves you, I would be honored to help guide the way. Let’s create something meaningful together, one journey at a time.

Custom Safaris Rooted in Real Kenyan Experience

Not All Journeys Are Created Equal. Some Change You.

When my wife and I first traveled to Kenya, it was for something meaningful. She was launching an engineering competition for Kenyan students, and I had the honor of serving as a judge at the inaugural event. We began our trip in Nakuru, working alongside passionate students and teachers, surrounded by bright minds and bigger dreams.

From the moment we arrived, Kenya kept revealing itself. Sometimes beautifully. Sometimes unpredictably.

The Road That Taught Me to Look Ahead

Before we left Nakuru for Nairobi, I saw something troubling. National news reports showed a massive traffic jam, with truck convoys frozen on the main highway for miles. It was the kind of gridlock that could turn a two-hour drive into an overnight ordeal.

Fortunately, we were traveling in a small group with the flexibility to adapt. We weren’t in a bus or tethered to a rigid group itinerary. We had a trusted local driver in a small passenger van. As the highway collapsed into chaos, our driver navigated the improvised paths being used by locals with four-wheel instincts and steady nerves.

What could have felt like a crisis became something else entirely. It became an adventure. We reached Nairobi in a few extra hours instead of losing a full day.

That drive made one thing clear: the best travel experiences are built on agility, experience, and trust. Small group travel is not just more personal. It is more resilient.

Then the Mara Spoke

From there, we flew into the wild.

Over three days in the Maasai Mara, the land unfolded slowly. Hippos fought in the river. Warthogs clashed tusks. We sat beside an elephant and her two calves. We followed a jackal and a cheetah across the grasslands. We sat among a massive pride of lions. We watched hyenas test the edges of a buffalo herd. We spotted rhino, pygmy mongoose, and more birds than I could count.

But we hadn’t seen the leopard.

On our final morning, as we headed toward the airstrip, our guide’s phone pinged with a quiet alert. A leopard had been spotted. Our guide, calm and confident, didn’t chase the sighting. He anticipated its path. We got ahead of it and waited.

A dik-dik stood still in a dense patch of brush. The leopard appeared. It crouched. Then it leapt.

The chase failed. The prey vanished. And in that imperfection, something deeper emerged.

It was thrilling. And tender. A reminder that the wild moves at its own pace.

That safari taught me to slow down. To observe more deeply. To find wonder in the unexpected.

The Transfer That Changed Everything

But Kenya wasn’t done teaching me.

After our safari, we landed back at Nairobi-Wilson regional airport. That was when I discovered a gap I hadn’t anticipated. There was no pre-arranged transfer. Our travel advisor hadn’t booked it. We were tired, carrying thousands of dollars in borrowed photography gear, and suddenly on our own.

I ordered an Uber. There was no air conditioning. We sat in traffic with the windows down, trying to stay cool.

Then it happened.

People in the car next to us began motioning. Urgently. I paused to understand. Then I realized they were warning us to roll the windows up. For our safety.

It was a jolt. I reassured my wife, calmly reached across to raise the window, and shifted into high alert. I scanned motorbikes, pedestrians, exit routes, even our driver. I wasn’t afraid. But I was alert in a way I hadn’t expected to be.

That moment reshaped everything. Travel done well is not just about where you go. It is about what you never have to question.

Travel With Actual Intelligence™

I now plan Kenya experiences with the precision, empathy, and foresight of someone who has lived the details and learned what makes the difference.

Trusted local partners I would choose for my own family

Small group travel that stays flexible, nimble, and private

Proactive logistics and situational awareness at every step

Experiences that unfold slowly, honestly, and without pressure

This Is for You If...

You want to experience Kenya through presence, not pretense.

You’ve done luxury. Now you want meaning.

You care about cultural integrity, comfort, and safety.

You want to stay long enough to hear what silence has to say.

Start Your Journey

Whether it is your first time in Africa or your fifth, I will help you experience Kenya in a way that is grounded, unforgettable, and real.

Because this is not just about going to Kenya.

It is about letting Kenya stay with you.
