Hello Adventurers,

My name is Chris Derajtys and my love of travel has been in my blood for many years. I grew up in Ohio but have lived in SC for over 40 years where I raised my family and spent my career teaching middle school science.  I have been an avid hiker and backpacker for about 15 years, I’ve always enjoyed visiting National Parks and have visited several with my kids while they are growing up. My husband and I have also visited several National Parks to hike and just enjoy the beauty of the parks, as well as completing several international hiking treks and combining a cruise or additional adventure after our treks.

I have planned several of our own trips with our own personal itineraries as well as booked and traveled with various trekking companies. Places i have been include our own 2 week itinerary in Alaska followed by an Alaskan cruise, hiking the Inca trail with an additional week exploring Peru, Kilimanjaro trek with a added safari after the trek in Tanzania, Tour duMont Blanc in Switzerland, Alta Via 1 in Italy, a group trip day hiking in the Dolomites, the Galapagos Islands, the Laugevegur Trail in Iceland and a week cruise around the Island (this summer), as well as trips to several National Parks for exploring, relaxation and hiking - Great Smoky Mountains NP, Acadia NP, Shenandoah NP, Joshua Tree NP, White Sands NP, Glacier NP, Canadian Rockies to name a few. I have also completed a 10 year section hike of the Appalachian Trail where I planned or helped plan most of the sections we hiked.  I can help plan a very small or larger section hike as well as recommending places to day hike on the AT.

I am excited to partner with Dreams to Destinations as I begin this new adventure as a travel agent. Working with the travel agency allows me to combine my love of travel, adventure and exploring the world with a company that will provide the knowledge, support and experience needed as I start on this journey.
