Q: When is the best time to visit Turkey?
A: May and June are the sweet spot for Istanbul and the historical sites. The weather is reliable, everything is running, and the summer crowds haven't arrived yet. The Aegean coast holds up well through October. Cappadocia works year-round, though the balloon rides are weather-dependent and the shoulder months bring smaller groups and more room in the valleys.

Q: Do Americans need a visa, and what should I know about currency and tipping?
A: No visa needed as of a couple of years ago. Türkiye's lira is favorable for U.S. travelers right now, so the cost-per-night gap between here and Western Europe is real. Tipping at restaurants runs around ten percent. A small tip for hotel staff who assist you is appropriate.
