Carol kept us informed during the uncertainties of Covid affecting this trip to Ireland. Then when the trip was cancelled due to Covid, Carol battled to refund our entire deposit, including the trip insurance premium. So I highly recommend this travel agent - her customer service is excellent.

Best trip we never took
We were scheduled to travel to Ireland but because of the pandemic the trip was cancelled. Carol did an excellent job keeping us informed throughout the whole time. She made sure we received our refund once we knew the trip was cancelled. We plan to reschedule the trip when the pandemic is controlled. Italy (Tuscany, Umbria) tour of a lifetime.
Carol was the most helpful and professional agent we have had the pleasure to work with.<br/><br/>Specifically we had a few odd interes and requests of her, and she came through perfectly<br/><br/>1)Tuscany cooking school in a rural vineyard setting, with a working vinyard as backdrop ! what fun<br/>2) we did a tour of Rome (6 hrs) (4 of us) in a Golf cart !!!!! That allowed us to places, alleys, parks, we never could have visited. We might had some wine too ! Amazing<br/>3) importantly, whenever we needed heko, she was available. Best tour based trip I've ever taken.
Carol is a great travel agent. She was on top of everything for our trip to Spain and Portugal. The companies she chose to make our walk on the Camino that much easier were great from the luggage transfers, hotel choices and the guides that accompanied us on our walk. A wonderful experience.
We travelled recently with Carol and a group from the USA on a cruise to the Greek Islands. It was a wonderful experience. The preparation and planning that Carol did for the trip was extraordinary. Carol arranged meet and greet evenings so that people could get to know each other before the cruise. This gave people an opportunity to ask questions and share information with one another. Carol's attention to detail is superb! Our trip to Italy was well planned with sufficient time to absorb and enjoy the stops on our itinerary. Carol is a wonderful tour professional and very detail oriented. Pre-tour Carol kept us updated on all the travel requirements necessary to travel to Italy. We had a pre-travel meet and greet with all the other members of our travel group. Walking the Camino - A trip to Remember!
I have wanted to walk the Camino for many years. The views along the Camino were spectacular as we spent 6 days walking along the coast, through villages, farms and vineyards. We saw beautiful old churches and religious artifacts along the way. Carol made sure that our bags transferred every morning from one hotel to the next and that our rooms were ready when we arrived after a long, exhausting yet exhilarating day. She even planned special surprises along the way. When we arrived in Santiago on our final day we were blown away by the beautiful Cathedral and Hotel. That evening we attended the Pilgrim Mass and she arranged the spectacular use of the Botafumeiro at the end of Mass. Thank you Carol!

Top five tour.
I like having a larger group than I am use to travel with. I am getting older and can't keep up with the younger people. This tour had excursions with different levels of activity. So, I could choose a level that wasn't always rated as strenuous. Also, having two Catholic priests on tour was very enjoyable and helpful in increasing my knowledge of my faith.

Our second trip with Carol
I’d call it turnkey travel. From the first offering the itinerary was set and accommodations and events squared away and accurately described. Carol took care of air travel for most of the 60 or so people on this trip, and ours was as good as we could have done it. Room keys and event tickets were always ready for our group on our arrival on the bus. Our guide and driver were lovely; forthcoming and informative. Carol was there with a smile on her face, taking (really nice) photos and ready to help whenever was needed.
I might have preferred another hotel at one stop, but let’s face it we were a lot of people to get beds for. I might have slept in a few more mornings, but we sure did see a lot on this trip. Minor gripes. It was a great trip that makes us Carol people even more than we were before.

Our trip to Greece “Following in the footsteps of Paul” was fantastic. I don’t think I have ever met a more organized person than Carol. Every detail, from largest to smallest, was expertly taken care of. Prior to departure Carol sent out weekly emails detailing various aspects of the trip. She even provided power converters. That’s why I say everything from airport transfers to hotel accommodations, to boarding the ship, to tours, etc. were hassle free. If there was ever a glitch we weren’t aware of it. Carol has a Plan A, plan B, Plan C, and probably a Plan D in place to take care of any exigent circumstances that may arise. Our trip was wonderful, and our experience with Carol and Recess For Grownups could not have been better. Would we recommend Recess For Grownups? You’d better believe it!,

This was our first trip with RFG and we were blown away by the personal touch and attentiveness from the beginning. Her professionalism and vast knowledge are evident in all of her pre-trip planning and organization. I especially appreciated the countdown emails covering everything we needed to as well as destination photos with Scripture to help build excitement until our departure. The swag bags were a nice touch with plenty of helpful items. We had a truly amazing trip, wonderful local guides and unique private Masses made this pilgrimage intimate and memorable. The Azamara cruise line was everything Carol promised, small ship big amenities, stellar service and crew, first class dining experience. The trip that did not happen
Being an avid College football fan and a big fan of “College Game Day” late last summer I saw that Game Day would be broadcast from Dublin Ireland and the game to be played was Navy vs. Notre Dame. I immediately researched the travel options and I located Recess4Grownups. I contacted them and surprisingly I was contacted with a telephone call from Carol Rowland. Carol spent time on the phone with me and explained many of the details of the trip and answered numerous questions. The trip and the football game were ultimately cancelled due to Covid-19. Carol worked diligently and was constantly in contact with me regarding refunds for both the trip and the travel insurance. It was very reassuring knowing the status of the cancellation and the refunding of deposits. I would recommend and not hesitate to book with Carol again.

Walking the Camino - A trip to Remember!
I have wanted to walk the Camino for many years. The views along the Camino were spectacular as we spent 6 days walking along the coast, through villages, farms and vineyards. We saw beautiful old churches and religious artifacts along the way. Carol made sure that our bags transferred every morning from one hotel to the next and that our rooms were ready when we arrived after a long, exhausting yet exhilarating day. She even planned special surprises along the way. When we arrived in Santiago on our final day we were blown away by the beautiful Cathedral and Hotel. That evening we attended the Pilgrim Mass and she arranged the spectacular use of the Botafumeiro at the end of Mass. Thank you Carol!

Covid ruined our trip, not our service from Carol
Carol was very helpful in very trying times. She did her best to keep us informed throughout the Covid crisis, and did her best to assist us in cancelling our trip to Ireland. Amazing trip to The Holy Land
I went on a recent trip to the Holy Land with Carol and a group from my parish. I was shocked at how smoothly and efficiently the trip unfolded. Every "t" was crossed and "i" was dotted. <br/><br/>Carol is the most organized and thoughtful person. I planned this trip with my sister who lives in another state and she felt so included and ready with all of the communication that Carol provided beforehand. Carol is extremely professional, makes sure the little things are already thought out, and provides an excellent experience for a great value. <br/><br/>I was very impressed with Carol's ability to bring everything together and I will absolutely travel under her direction again. Always wanted to visit Israel
I joined the Holy Land Pilgrimage with Carol Rowland because of a Flyer with all details-Itinerary, Inclusions, Pricing, etc. Then about once a week, I received information about Israel; preparing, money, hotels, phones, packing, shopping, medical services, weather, clothing, luggage, passport, and many other tips and instructions.<br/><br/>Once we arrived, an Itinerary with Scripture relevant to where we will be that day was provided and nicely bound.<br/>Comfortable buses were provided for transport from one city/hotel to the next. We took lots of pictures and after arrival at home, a Goggle service allowed picture sharing.<br/><br/>On the trip, I needed some extra help on some long walks beyond the bus drop. Carol and some of the others were avail to help.

Transformative trip
Carol made our trip exceptional because of her endless enthusiasm, sensitivity, and attention to detail. It was a "seamless" trip, despite the fact that she was herding 66 people in and out of numbers venues. Each of our destinations was significant and woven into the narrative of our pilgrimage, following the footsteps of Jesus. Carol provided many "extras" that either enhanced our experiences (mud at the Dead Sea!) or eased our manya travel logistics (navigating airports and borders). We saw it all!
Carol was wonderful to work with before, during and after our trip. She provided us with a lot of very useful information starting several months before we left. Because of her organization and research of the places we saw, we felt totally prepared for the trip. She had every stop on our itinerary planned to a tee and included several cool surprises like a bucket of mud at the Dead Sea, a vow renewal ceremony at the site of the wedding at Cana and little tokens for us as reminders of the places we had been. She packed so much sight seeing into our days, I can't imagine it being any better! She also took tons of pictures along the way. I would recommend her to anyone planning a trip!
