National Plan for Vacation Day
Why You Should Plan Your Year of Travel Now
by Jen Coulter
In 2016, employees left 662 million unused vacation days on the table, according to a survey conducted by Project: Time Off, a national movement to get us to take time off from work and to understand how it’s essential to our personal wellbeing and professional success. The good news is that Americans are using more vacation time than they used to. In 2016, average vacation use climbed 16.8 days per worker compared to 16.2 days in 2015. Keeping that in mind… with all of the days of the calendar dedicated to celebrating miscellaneous holidays – like National Handwriting Day, National Hat Day and National Wiggle Your Toes Day – here is one event that I can get behind and celebrate – National Plan for Vacation Day! And it’s a Project: Time Off initiative that world traveler and expert Samantha Brown is excited about.
For some people, planning a vacation is a much needed and wanted distraction from everyday life.
