And even if you haven’t decided on whether you want to plan a destination wedding or local wedding yet, Vacation has more wedding day inspiration you’re going to love, and it’s from a few notable celebrity weddings. Let’s face it… any time a celebrity gets married, it’s easy to look at their over-the-top nuptials and wish yours could be equally as fabulous. Great news… it can be! Wedding inspiration can come from anywhere, including star-studded weddings, and here’s how you can get the look from some of our celebs who tied the knot.
Ciara and Russell Wilson
Married: July 6, 2016
The Destination: The R&B star and her elite quarterback husband tied the knot at a majestic castle in Cheshire, England but they don’t have to be the only ones! Consider flying to the United Kingdom with friends and family for an intimate celebration abroad.
The Gown: Ciara wore a stunning lace dress complete with illusion bell sleeves and a v-neckline. Consider shopping around for something similar if you loved her Roberto Cavalli look. Bell sleeves and illusion fabrics are all the rage right now so your local bridal salon is bound to have something similar.
The Flowers: The singer opted for a clean and classic all-white bouquet, something that’s pretty easy for you to replicate on your own. It doesn’t matter when or where you’re getting married, white is always in style.
Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis
Married: July 9, 2016
The Destination: The former MLB player and his supermodel wife Hannah Davis got hitched at a Napa Valley resort in St. Helena, California. They held an outdoor ceremony with gorgeous green mountains in the background. You can copy their style if you’re thinking about tying the knot outside. Staying at a resort with a view not only allows everyone to be together all weekend, but gives you tons of Instagram-worthy spots to have your picture taken.
The Gown: The Sports Illustrated model donned a formfitting gown with an illusion lace high neckline and bare arms and shoulders. She also wore a cathedral length veil for her walk down the aisle. If you’re feeling this twist on a traditional gown, take a page from Hannah Davis’ book and start shopping around for something to flatter your figure.
The Guest List: The couple kept their guest list intimate, with less than 100 friends and family members in attendance. If a cozy and personal celebration is what you’re after, try to keep the guest list under 100 so it really feels like a fun night out with those who love you most.
Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail
Married: May 28, 2017
The Destination: The Shameless actress and her director husband Sam Esmail exchanged vows in a synagogue and then held their reception in the Guggenheim Museum in New York City over Memorial Day weekend. This wedding day inspiration is perfect if you’re thinking about having a modern city wedding. A city allows your guests to explore and produces some unique wedding portraits as well.
The Gown: In line with her more traditional ceremony, Emmy donned a structured off-the-shoulder custom Carolina Herrera dress. If you want your wedding day look to be clean and classic, consider a satin fabric like hers that hugs you in all the right places. Less is more when it comes to timeless gowns.
The Décor: The couple looked to nature to help decorate their ceremony space. The pair tied the knot under a chuppah blossoming with white florals, which also adorned the stair rails on their way out. Fresh out of décor ideas? Look no further than your own bouquet to inspire your wedding day venue.
