EMAIL MARKETING MANAGER
Alexandria, VA; Full Time

Job Summary: The Manager, Email Marketing is responsible for managing Vacation.com's business to business (b2b) and business to consumer (b2c) email programs, executing best in class e-mail campaigns and tests, and analyzing and reporting on results. The candidate must have a passion for operational excellence.

Create targeted e-mail campaigns using best practices in customer segmentation, dynamic content, messaging strategies and contact frequency for both business and consumer audiences. Act as liaison between Vacation.com and external vendors to diagnose and resolve any email related problems that may arise. Evaluate evolving technological needs to support a robust e-mail marketing program. Analyze and report on key e-mail metrics: deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, response rates and revenue production. Ensure utilization of best practices and compliance around permission-based marketing, privacy, spam regulation (CAN/SPAM) and deliverability. Lead company strategy and execution of plan to meet database accuracy goals, including leveraging ECOA and other list hygiene tools. Develop programs to increase capture of opted-in prospect e-mail addresses. Promote various company marketing programs to membership base. Manage email QA processes. Will be cross-trained on additional marketing department responsibilities. From time to time, at the request of the Director of Marketing, will work as strategic marketing liaison on projects for other marketing departments.

Qualifications: At least 1 year experience executing e-mail campaigns utilizing SilverPop or similar third party ESP email management system (e.g. Responsys, YesMail, Zustek, Bronto, Bigfoot , etc.) 3 years marketing experience required, preferably in direct marketing agency or database marketing oriented corporation. Proven track record of developing e-mail campaigns that maximize profit. Excellent analytical skills. Strong attention to detail balanced by ability to see big picture. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with smart, highly-motivated team members. Ability to perform in a self-managed environment--must be a self-starter . Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork. Prior experience in cross-departmental project coordination (marketing, creative team, production, IT, customer service, etc.) Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in MS Access and with statistical analysis a plus. Bachelor's Degree. MBA a plus, but not required.
